The community of Commercial Point, Ohio is tucked away in the suburbs of Central Ohio. Quick access to I-71, US-23, and I-270, and less than 10 miles to Grove City, makes the Commercial Point area the perfect location to be close to all the essentials, but enough distance away to retreat into the relaxed tranquility of a small town.

In 1841, Wiley Beckett purchased 238 acres of land in Scioto Township, laying out a town that he called Genoa. About four years later, Beckett opened the first general store and post office in Genoa. The name of the post office in Beckett’s Store was called Commercial Point, which became the official name of the village in 1872.

Commercial Point is the fastest-growing affluent community in Pickaway County and one of the fastest-growing villages in Central Ohio.

It is also home to Sarah Fisher, an Indy Racing League (IRL) (now IndyCar Series) race car driver from 1999-2010. In 2002, Fisher was the first female driver to win a pole position in a major American open-wheel race and competed in the Indianapolis 500 nine times, more than any other woman.

Every year, Commercial Point has a race like no other. The first weekend of August, the Commercial Point Karting Classic is held. This family fun weekend is full of cars, music, and, of course, kart racing. Racers take a course through town, weaving in and out trying to capture that 1st place prize.
